Kaal Sarp Dosha Calculator: Check Your Chart Free
Instant and free — no signup, no phone number, nothing stored. Enter your birth details and this tool checks whether all your planets are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu — the Kaal Sarp yoga — tells you if it is full or partial, and (with birth time) which of the twelve types by Rahu's house. It runs in your browser on the same sidereal (Lahiri) engine as the site's full kundli tool — also free, PDF included.
What Kaal Sarp Dosha actually is
Kaal Sarp Dosha forms when all seven planets — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn — fall on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis, so the entire chart is "swallowed" between the two lunar nodes. Rahu is the serpent's head, Ketu its tail; when every planet sits within that half-circle, the yoga is complete.
Full vs partial
If even one planet falls outside the Rahu-Ketu arc, the dosha is partial (bhanga) — much milder, and often effectively cancelled. This tool tells you whether your chart is full or partial and names the planet that breaks it, so you get an honest picture instead of a scare.
The twelve types
When birth time is known, the yoga is classified into twelve types by the house Rahu occupies — Anant, Kulik, Vasuki, Shankhpal, Padma, Mahapadma, Takshak, Karkotak, Shankhachur, Ghatak, Vishdhar and Sheshnag. The type indicates the area of life most touched, which is why Rahu's house — not just the presence of the yoga — matters.
Is it as bad as the internet says? No.
Kaal Sarp is the most over-dramatised yoga online. Many highly accomplished people carry it; it often reads as a life of sustained effort rewarded by delayed but real success. Its true weight depends on the rest of the chart, the running dasha, and whether it is full or partial. A grounded reading — not a frightening label — is what tells you what it means for you.

Frequently asked questions
What is Shani Sade Sati?
Sade Sati is the roughly 7½-year period when Saturn transits the twelfth, first and second signs counted from your natal Moon sign, in three phases of about 2½ years each — traditionally a time of testing, responsibility and maturing.
How do I know which phase I am in?
Rising = Saturn in the 12th from your Moon, peak = Saturn over your Moon sign, setting = Saturn in the 2nd. This tool finds your Moon sign and today's Saturn sign and names the phase and its end.
Is Sade Sati always bad?
No — it is a period of discipline and consolidation, not a verdict. Its effect depends on Saturn's strength in your own chart; for some it brings hard-won growth. A personal reading, not a generic label, tells you how it lands.
Is this calculator free?
Completely — no signup, no phone number, and it runs in your browser on the same Lahiri sidereal engine as the site's full free kundli.
