Yoga Finder: Which Classical Yogas Shine in Your Kundli?
Enter your date, time and city of birth and the Yoga Finder checks 23 classical yogas in your kundli — Gaja Kesari, Budhaditya, the five Panch Mahapurusha yogas, Adhi, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Vipreet Raj, Neecha Bhanga and more — free, with no signup. Almost every chart has several, and a yoga formed by weak or afflicted planets under-delivers, so the list is a starting point, not a reading.

Instant and free — no signup, no login. The finder computes your chart in your browser on the same sidereal (Lahiri) engine as the site’s full kundli tool — also free, PDF included — and lists each yoga present with the planets that form it.
What a yoga actually is
A yoga is a specific combination of planets or houses that classical texts associate with a result. The tool above identifies which are present in your chart. Two cautions belong with any such list:
| Point | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Almost every chart has yogas | Finding several is normal, not remarkable |
| Strength decides delivery | A yoga formed by weak or afflicted planets under-delivers — the same named yoga behaves very differently in two charts |
| The dasha decides timing | A yoga gives results chiefly during the periods of the planets forming it |
| Cancellation is real | Many yogas are cancelled or blunted by other placements |
| A list is not a reading | Which of these actually matters for you is a question for the chart as a whole |
Which yogas does the finder check?
Twenty-three classical yogas, in five groups:
| Group | Yogas |
|---|---|
| Moon yogas | Gaja Kesari, Sunapha, Anapha, Durudhara, Kemadruma, Adhi, Chandra-Mangal |
| Sun yogas | Budhaditya, Vesi, Vashi, Ubhayachari |
| Panch Mahapurusha | Ruchaka (Mars), Bhadra (Mercury), Hamsa (Jupiter), Malavya (Venus), Shasha (Saturn) |
| Raj and wealth yogas | Vipreet Raj, Neecha Bhanga Raj, Parivartana, Lakshmi |
| Other yogas | Amala, Saraswati, Shubha Kartari |
Kemadruma is the one difficult yoga on the list — the Moon with no planets on either side — and it has well-known cancellations of its own.
Why does a yoga sometimes not deliver?
A yoga is only as strong as the planets that form it. A planet that is combust, debilitated, in an enemy sign or badly placed by house gives a weaker version of the yoga; one that is exalted, in its own sign or well aspected gives the full result. The lordships matter too: the same yoga formed by the lords of good houses delivers more than one formed by the lords of the 6th, 8th or 12th.
Many yogas also have cancellations. Neecha Bhanga Raj Yoga is itself a cancellation — of a planet’s debilitation — and is one reason a debilitated planet is not read on its own.
When does a yoga give its results?
Chiefly in the mahadashas and antardashas of the planets that form it. A Gaja Kesari yoga shows most clearly in the Jupiter or Moon periods; a Mahapurusha yoga in the period of its planet. See your dasha sequence with the free mahadasha calculator.

How this is calculated
Planet positions are computed in your browser with astronomical formulas that are checked every night against the Swiss Ephemeris, the standard used by professional astrology software. Sidereal positions use the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the standard ayanamsa of Indian panchangs, and the birth time is converted from your city's own time zone. Method reviewed by Dr. R.P. Sharma, Ph.D. and Acharya in Phalit Jyotish, practising Vedic astrology since 1979.
Last verified: 28 September 2026, against the Swiss Ephemeris and the nightly tool test.
Frequently asked questions
Which yogas does the Yoga Finder check?
Twenty-three classical yogas: Gaja Kesari, Sunapha, Anapha, Durudhara, Kemadruma, Adhi and Chandra-Mangal (Moon yogas); Budhaditya, Vesi, Vashi and Ubhayachari (Sun yogas); the five Panch Mahapurusha yogas; Vipreet Raj, Neecha Bhanga Raj, Parivartana and Lakshmi; and Amala, Saraswati and Shubha Kartari.
Do I have raj yoga in my kundli?
The finder checks Vipreet Raj, Neecha Bhanga Raj and Parivartana yogas and the five Mahapurusha yogas. The classic kendra–trikona raj yogas depend on house lordships from your Lagna and are read in a full chart reading; see raj yoga in the kundli.
Is Gaja Kesari yoga rare?
No. Jupiter in a kendra (1st, 4th, 7th or 10th) from the Moon happens in about one chart in three. What makes it effective is the strength of Jupiter and the Moon and the dasha in which it operates.
Do I need my exact birth time?
For the Moon- and Sun-based yogas the date is usually enough. Yogas counted from the Lagna — the Mahapurusha yogas, Amala and Lakshmi among them — need an accurate birth time.
Is the Yoga Finder free?
Completely — no signup or login, and it runs in your browser on the same Lahiri sidereal engine as the site’s full free kundli.
