Enter Your Birth Details
Birth time decides your ascendant (Lagna), which changes about every two hours — so enter it as exactly as you can. If you don't know it, choose "Unknown" and we'll show a Moon-based chart for noon.
What your Kundli (Janam Kundali) actually shows
A Kundli — also called a Janam Kundali, birth chart, or horoscope — is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place you were born. In Vedic astrology it is drawn using the sidereal zodiac, which accounts for the slow shift of the stars over the centuries, with the Lahiri ayanamsa (the standard adopted by the Government of India). This tool calculates that map for you instantly: your ascendant (Lagna), your Moon sign (Rashi), your birth star (Nakshatra), and the placement of all nine grahas — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and the lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu.
The three placements people ask about most are the Lagna (how you meet the world and the frame for the whole chart), the Moon sign (your mind and emotional nature — the basis of most Vedic predictions and your daily rashifal), and the Nakshatra (a finer 27-fold division that adds important detail). This page shows all three the moment you enter your details.
Why a chart is only the beginning
A computer can place the planets accurately — that is mathematics. But a Kundli is not a verdict; it is a language. Reading what your placements mean together for your career, marriage, business, health, or the timing of a decision is the work of an experienced astrologer. That interpretation — calm, honest, and specific to your questions — is what a personal consultation with Dr. R.P. Sharma provides.
Dr. R.P. Sharma holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. from the University of Delhi and an M.A. Acharya in Phalit Jyotish (predictive astrology) from the Central Sanskrit University, and has practised since 1979 — more than 45 years. A reading with him is a calm, personal conversation with a genuinely qualified expert who studies your chart with care.
How to read your free Kundli
Once your chart is generated, here is a simple way to begin understanding it:
- Start with your Lagna (ascendant). It sits in the first house and sets the frame for the whole chart — your outlook and how you meet the world. Its lord's placement is an important thread.
- Read your Moon sign (Rashi). The Moon reflects your mind and emotions, and is the basis of most Vedic predictions and your daily rashifal.
- Note your Nakshatra. This finer 27-fold division of the Moon's position adds important nuance to temperament and timing.
- See where the nine planets fall. Each planet, by sign and house, colours a different area of life — the table shows all nine, with any retrograde marked.
- Look at the houses. The twelve houses each govern an area — self, wealth, family, home, children, health, partnership, career and more. Planets in or aspecting a house shape how that area unfolds.
This gives you the shape of the chart. Reading how these parts interact — and what they mean for your specific questions and their timing — is the work of a personal consultation.
Questions about the free Kundli
Is this free Kundli accurate?
Yes — it uses the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa and established astronomical algorithms for the planetary positions. Accuracy depends most on you entering an exact birth time and the correct birth place. The placements it shows are the same ones a professional chart would show; the difference a professional makes is in interpreting them.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
The ascendant changes roughly every two hours, so an exact time gives the most reliable Lagna and house placements. If you don't know it, choose "Unknown" — the Moon sign, nakshatra and most planetary signs are still meaningful, and birth-time rectification can be discussed in a personal reading.
Do you store my birth details?
The chart is calculated entirely in your own browser. Your details are used to draw your Kundli and are not posted anywhere by this tool.
How is this different from a paid consultation?
This tool shows your chart. A consultation interprets it — for your specific questions, with remedies, timing, and honest guidance from Dr. R.P. Sharma personally. A detailed Kundli consultation is ₹5,100.
This free tool is provided for general understanding and educational purposes. Astrological guidance is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. Calculations use the Lahiri ayanamsa and standard astronomical algorithms; for charts near a sign boundary, a verified birth time is especially important.
