The same rules as our vivah muhurat 2026–27 list.
Griha pravesh
Nakshatra: Rohini, Mrigashira, Uttara Phalguni, Chitra, Anuradha, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada or Revati. Tithi not rikta, Amavasya or Purnima. No Tuesday or Sunday. The same seasonal and combustion blocks as marriage.
Buying a vehicle
Nakshatra: Ashwini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha or Revati. Tithi not rikta or Amavasya. No Tuesday or Saturday. No seasonal block. Avoid Rahu Kaal for the delivery itself.
Computed on the Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanamsa; the tithi and nakshatra at New Delhi sunrise decide the day — if one of them changes within the first hour after sunrise, the one that follows decides it, and the window starts from that change. Method reviewed by Dr. R.P. Sharma, practising Vedic astrology since 1979.
Frequently asked questions
Which dates are auspicious for marriage in 2026–27?
Use the Marriage tab above: each date passes the classical vivah rules listed on this page for New Delhi — an auspicious nakshatra, a suitable tithi, no Tuesday, and no Chaturmas, Kharmas, Malmas, Holashtak or combust Jupiter/Venus.
Is a date from this list enough?
No. These are panchang-level dates. The exact lagna (hour) is fixed for your city, and the date should suit the charts involved — that is what a consultation checks.
Why do other calendars show slightly different dates?
Panchangs differ on small conventions — the combustion orb for Venus and Jupiter, whether the tithi at sunrise or the one prevailing most of the day decides, and regional month rules. The rules used here are printed on the page so you can see exactly why each date qualifies.
Do the times change for my city?
Yes, by some minutes, because sunrise differs. The list is computed for New Delhi; confirm the window for your city with the free panchang.
