How do you meet a Vedic astrologer online?

What should you prepare before the consultation?

Your birth details are the chart itself, so get them right first: the date, the exact time as written in a birth record, and the town or city of birth. Then write down your questions — two or three, specific to the life areas that matter now, such as marriage, a career change, business or property.

• Key past events with dates — marriage, job changes, moves, the birth of children. They let the astrologer check the chart against your life and, if needed, correct the birth time.
• Any earlier horoscope you have, shared as a photo or PDF. It shows how earlier periods unfolded.
• The decision you are facing, stated plainly. A clear question gets a clear answer.

How do birth time and place affect the accuracy?

The birth time sets the rising sign (Lagna) and the twelve houses. The Lagna changes sign about every two hours, so an error of a few minutes matters when it falls near a sign boundary, and it also shifts divisional charts such as the navamsa. The Moon moves about half a degree an hour, so an hour's error can move dasha dates by several months.

The birth place gives the time zone and the latitude and longitude from which the Lagna and houses are calculated; the signs the planets occupy barely change with place. If your time is only approximate, the astrologer can read the Moon chart (Chandra Lagna) and correct the birth time from major life events.

When is the right time to consult an astrologer?

The most useful times are before a major decision — marriage, a job change, starting a business, buying property, moving abroad — and when a new period begins in your chart: a new mahadasha or antardasha (see yours with the free mahadasha calculator), or the start of Sade Sati (check with the Sade Sati calculator).

Consulting before the decision, rather than after it, lets you choose a supportive window and a muhurat instead of only explaining what already happened.

What questions should you ask during the consultation?

Ask about the period you are in and the decision in front of you. Questions that get useful answers:

• Which mahadasha and antardasha am I in, and what do they favour in my chart?
• When does my chart show a supportive period for marriage?
• Is this a good period to change jobs or start a business?
• Which months suit buying property or moving?
• Does my chart call for any remedy — and if so, which one and why?

Astrology shows trends and supportive periods, not guaranteed dates, so avoid questions that ask for certainty — lottery numbers or the exact day an event will happen.

How does a Vedic astrologer use dashas and transits?

Dashas are planetary periods that time when each part of the chart becomes active. The astrologer first identifies the running mahadasha and antardasha and how those planets sit in your houses and yogas. Transits (gochar) are the planets' present movements across your chart. Read together, they explain why one area of life feels pressured now — for example Saturn moving through the 10th house for work — and when that pressure eases.

For example, Jupiter moving through the 11th house during a supportive dasha points to a good period for income and recognition, while Mars through the 6th can bring short-lived friction at work. The same transit reads differently in different charts, which is why the reading is personal.
