Why nakshatra beats rashi for naming
A rashi spans nine padas; naming by rashi means picking any of nine sounds. The Muhurta tradition’s actual prescription is the single pada syllable — the finer address. Yes — rashi letters are a valid quick method, since they are the union of the rashi's nakshatra padas. The pada syllable is simply more precise: one sound instead of nine.
My baby's rashi and nakshatra suggest different letters — which wins?
They cannot truly conflict: the pada syllable always lies WITHIN the rashi's letter set. If a list you read disagrees, it is using a variant table — the pada remains the finer standard.
