Eclipses 2026 in India: Which Were Visible, Sutak, and What They Mean for Your Chart
2026 had four eclipses. Only the total lunar eclipse of 3 March was visible from India, and only its end, near moonrise. The two August eclipses — the total solar eclipse of 12 August and the partial lunar eclipse of 28 August — were not visible from India, so no sutak applied. The next eclipse India will see is the solar eclipse of 2 August 2027.

The next eclipse India will see
Monday 2 August 2027: a total solar eclipse globally, seen as a partial eclipse across India between about 3:45 PM and 5:50 PM IST, deepest in the south (about half the Sun covered in Kochi, under a tenth in Delhi).
