A “Rajyog kundli” is a birth chart with a working Raj yoga: a link between a kendra lord (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) and a trikona lord (1st, 5th, 9th) — together, exchanging signs or aspecting each other — with the planets strong and their dasha arriving at a useful age. Benefics simply sitting in kendras is not, by itself, Raj yoga.
How the yoga forms
The classical rule is in Parashari Raj yoga: kendra lord + trikona lord connected by conjunction, exchange or mutual aspect. A yogakaraka planet (ruling a kendra and a trikona) forms one by itself.
Check your chart in five steps
- List the lords of the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th houses for your lagna.
- Find links: any kendra lord with any trikona lord — same sign, exchanged signs, or mutual aspect (7th aspect for all; Mars 4th/8th, Jupiter 5th/9th, Saturn 3rd/10th special aspects).
- Check strength: own, exalted or friendly sign; not combust; not in the 6th, 8th or 12th.
- Check dusthana lordship: if a planet also rules the 6th, 8th or 12th, the result is mixed.
- Check timing: when do the dashas of these planets run in your life?
What a working Raj yoga gives
Rise in status, responsibility and recognition in proportion to strength: a manager, officer, professional of standing, or leader in a field — not necessarily power over a state. The 9th–10th lord link (Dharma-Karmadhipati) and a strong yogakaraka are the clearest signatures.
