How the yoga forms

Six of the nine grahas (counting Rahu or Ketu) in one sign. Five is Panchagrahi, four Chaturgrahi, three Trigrahi. Because the slow planets must join the fast ones, six-planet clusters are rare and usually coincide with a New Moon or eclipse.

• Combustion: planets close to the Sun lose strength — in a cluster, several may be combust.
• Planetary war: two planets within one degree compete; the weaker loses.
• Dispositor: the sign lord (Jupiter for Sagittarius) decides how well the cluster delivers.

• Other houses are emptier, so the chart becomes one-pointed.

A Sagittarius cluster channels energy into learning, teaching, faith, law, travel or long-distance work, coloured by the house: in the 9th, dharma and higher studies; in the 10th, a career centred on knowledge; in the 1st, a strong, idealistic personality.
