The name sounds like the nakshatra Punarvasu, but the dosha has nothing to do with it. It is a popular, mainly South Indian reading of the Moon–Saturn bond; it is not listed as a named dosha in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, so judge it as a Moon–Saturn affliction rather than a fixed curse.
How strong is it?
- Degrees: a tight conjunction or exact opposition counts far more than a loose one.
- Houses: it matters most when it touches the 7th house, its lord, or the ascendant.
- Dignity: a strong Moon (waxing, well placed) and a Saturn in its own or exaltation sign (Capricorn, Aquarius, Libra) soften the results.
- Jupiter: Jupiter’s aspect on the Moon or Saturn is a strong protection.
Effects on marriage and mind
The usual reading is delay and indecision rather than denial: proposals that stall, dates that shift, or second thoughts close to the wedding. Mentally it shows as worry, low mood in difficult periods and a cautious, serious temperament. When it shows
Results come up mainly in the Moon or Saturn mahadasha or antardasha, and during Saturn’s transit over the natal Moon (Sade Sati) or its 7th-house transit. Outside these periods many people feel little of it.

- Shiva worship on Mondays, with water or milk on the Shivling.
- Shani mantra Om Sham Shanaischaraya Namah on Saturdays, and Chandra mantra Om Som Somaya Namah on Mondays, 108 times.
- Service to elders and labourers and charity on Saturdays (black sesame, mustard oil).
