Kartavirya Arjuna was the thousand-armed king of the Haihaya dynasty in the Puranas. A short verse remembering him is traditionally recited to recover lost or stolen things: “Kartaviryarjuno nama raja bahusahasravan, tasya smarana matrena hritam nashtam cha labhyate” — “By merely remembering the thousand-armed king named Kartaviryarjuna, what was stolen or lost is regained.” It is not a Mars seed mantra.

How it is recited
- Recite the verse 11, 21 or 108 times with a calm mind, as soon as you notice the loss.
- Many families also light a lamp and offer a small sweet.
- Then search methodically — the verse steadies the mind; the search finds the thing.
What Jyotish says about lost items
Lost-item questions belong to prashna (horary) astrology: a chart is cast for the moment the question is asked. The 2nd and 11th houses show possessions and recovery, the Moon shows the item’s condition, and fixed, movable or dual signs hint at whether it is nearby, moved away or hidden. For valuables, report to the authorities as well.
